Plastic surgery is becoming more and more popular these days, especially in Asian countries. One of the latest plastic surgery trends in China is a nose job that resembles the Eiffel Tower and guarantees a more classic and slender nose. Surgeon Wang Xuming, who is responsible for the creation of the bizarre procedure, explains that Chinese people really admire the beauty of the famous Parisian landmark. Therefore the ads and posters of Dr. Xuming’s clinic, which are plastered all over Chongqing city, promise that after the surgery women can be proud with a nose that looks just like the Eiffel Tower.
However, one of the reasons behind the significant growth in plastic surgery operations is economical. After graduation many university students go through a lot of trouble trying to find a good job and it is believed that having a more attractive appearance can help being chosen by employers. Certain companies even list particular weight and height requirements in their recruitment ads. The trend is rather controversial and many have dubbed it superficial claiming that a person should only be hired for their abilities and not their looks if the job doesn’t require specific appearance.
