One of Great Britain’s dumbest crimes happened recently. Two repeat offenders, Robert Taylor, 36, who had just been released from jail and William Shearon, 23, burglarized a hotel.
The two culprits were able to invade the 4-star Guest House called Kilburn in Bridlington, East Yorks. The experienced thieves stole a flat screen TV, a cell-phone, the cash from charity boxes as well as plenty of alcohol and money from the bar’s cash register. They not only acquired a nice loot but also loaded everything on the owner’s Ford Mondeo and drove off.
But the two culprits did not get very far. When the hotel owner discovered the place had been burglarized he immediately called the police. When the authorities showed up they were sort of pleasantly surprised to discover Taylor’s jail paperwork among all the empty charity boxes. The papers included documents regarding Taylor’s release from prison as well as a letter addressed to him which had his full credentials on it.
The two bungling crooks were apprehended hours later and sent back to prison again.
