Bill Clinton, a former president of United States, suddenly went strictly vegan about six years ago. According to Dr. Dean Ornish, who has been the Clintons’ physician consultant for more than 20 years, the former president has always been interested in a healthier lifestyle.
In 1993 Clintons even insisted that the chefs at The White House prepared healthier meals for the first family. Dr. Ornish reveals that Clinton was convinced “it is not all in the genes” and a person can do a lot about their health just by making better food choices. Thus, realizing he was a high-risk person, Clinton has cut off from his menu all meat, dairy and even fish. The ex president explained that the hardest thing for him wasn’t giving up meat but forgetting about his favorite yogurt and hard cheese. However, there was a good reason for it. By changing his eating habits Clinton believed he would be around longer and have more time to spend with his family. He desperately wanted to be there to walk his daughter down the aisle and see his grandchildren born and grow up. Luckily, the Clintons are expecting their first grandkid this year.
