Two dolphins in an aquarium in Liaoning province in China got ill after gnawing on plastic particles from the edge of the pool. Veterinarians were unable to remove the plastic using surgical instruments because the dolphins’ stomachs contracted when in contact with the instruments.
Then doctors came up with the idea to ask Bao Xishun, the tallest man according to Guinness Book, for help. The 7.9ft tall shepherd has 41.7in long arms and was able to reach into the dolphins’ stomach and take out the particles. The jaws of the dolphins were held back by towels to keep them from biting Bao’s hand. The doctors later confirmed that without Bao’s help the dolphins might have died.
