This is the story of a man, who was pronounced clinically dead, but came back to the world of the living just to win the jackpot – twice!
Back in the not so distant 1999 an Australian man made headlines not only for his unusual recovery from the dead, but also for the unbelievable luck he scored in a local lottery. Bill Morgan from Melbourne, Australia, was an average man, who worked as a truck driver. He was engaged in a road accident and hit by another truck. As a result of the accident, Bill suffered a heart attack. He was pronounced clinically dead for a total of 14 minutes. Miraculously enough, Bill managed to come back to the world of the living after he spent 12 days in a coma. His relatives were advised to give up on him and to unplug his life support. However, they decided not to do it.
Approximately a year after Bill recovered from the accident he got engaged to his girlfriend and future wife Lisa. Shortly after the couple got engaged Bill bought a scratch off ticket for a local lottery. The ticket brought him a brand new car worth of $17,000 in USD. One local TV station learned of Bill’s story and decided to make a feature of him. While they were filming they asked Bill to get another lottery ticket so that he could re-enact the moment he won. As the man scratched the ticket, he realized he had won the jackpot for the second time in his life. The second ticket brought him a total of $170,000.
Strangely enough, after his second win Bill decided to give up the idea of scratching off more lottery tickets. He bought a new house with the $170,000 and focused on leading a healthy and happy life with his wife.
