On November 4, 2013 the teenager Tylor Comstock got into a heated argument with his father. The reason for the misunderstanding was that the father, James Comstock, refused to buy his son a pack of cigarettes. Unfortunately, the minor domestic issue unleashed a whole chain of unfortunate events.
According to Tylor’s mother he had recently split up with his girlfriend and completely freaked out when his father denied to do what he wanted. Afterwards Tylor hopped into the truck used by the family’s lawn mowing company and drove off. James decided to teach his son a lesson and immediately called the police to report his truck had been stolen which resulted in a high-speed police chase. Tylor was driving erratically and dangerously while attempting to evade the cops. He not only rammed multiple police cars but even stop-checked one of them.
Finally, after Tylor entered the campus area of the Iowa State University with his vehicle, the police officers were able to stop and block him near some trees. After Tylor refused to turn off the engine and revved it, the police officer Adam McPherson shot 6 times in the rear of the truck. Two of his shots wounded Tylor and he passed away a few moments later according to the medical report.
The Comstock family is deeply saddened by the tragic turn of events.
