He traveled to Bangkok, Thailand and lost his brand new iPhone there. After discovering his prized possession was missing he tracked it down by using a special app . Matsumoto was also able to see the person currently using it by checking his iCloud profile.
This was when Matsumoto maybe fell in love at first sight. The person who had his iPhone was a cute girl from Bangkok. At this point Matsumoto decided to forgive the girl and bought a new iPhone from which he began texting her. He sent pictures of himself and told the girl to keep the phone in exchange for her friendship.
