Social networks are full of human selfies but the very first ‘elephant selfie’ has been recently posted online. It was made by Latabe, a 22-year-old resident of the safari park in West Midlands, Great Britain. The animal managed to take a selfie after a visitor dropped his iPhone and the elephant tapped the touchscreen with its trunk.
Scott Brearly dropped his mobile device while passing with his car through the elephant area. An employee of the park gestured him not to stop and later personally went to pick up the iPhone. After receiving his device back, the 23-year-old Brearly was really shocked to find the elephant selfie. He later explained that he loved coming to the park as he lives nearby. The man assumed the animal had touched his iPhone thinking it was food. The selfies turned out to be two but the other one was not of good quality. The park employees explained that lots of visitors happen to drop their devices but it was the very first selfie they had seen.
