A man searched for his biological mother for 4 years without knowing she was his co-worker all along
Steve Flaig was born in 1985. His biological mother wasn’t ready to be a mom, so she gave him up for adoption. The Flaig family from Grand Rapids, Michigan, adopted him. They agreed to let him search for his biological parents once he turned 18.
Flaig spent 4 years trying to find his birth mother. Most of these 4 years he kept looking for phone numbers, records and addresses using a misspelled last name. When he finally found his biological mom’s address, he realized it was just near Lowe’s, where he was working as a delivery truck driver. He asked his boss about the woman and learned that she was actually working in the same store! Not only were they co-workers, but they’ve passed by and greeted each other for more than half a year without realizing they were related!
Flaig and his birth mom, Christine Tallady, reunited just weeks before Christimas 2007. According to Christie, it was the best Christmas present she could have ever wished for.
