If you’re a big Harry Potter fan, you probably think you know every single detail, fact and secret about the seven books and the eight movies. You are wrong!
Alan Rickman’s iconic character, the feared, loathed and adored by millions Professor Snape spent most of his time as a Hogwarts teacher trying to make the lives of every single student, who wasn’t in Slytherin House, extremely miserable. And just like Professor Snape, Alack Rickman has what it takes to ruin our day. He recently shared a shocking secret about the Harry Potter movies, which will instantly change the way fans all across the globe look upon the franchise.
During his speech at the BAFTA awards, the 69 year old British actor shared a mind-blowing secret about what was going on at the set of the first movie in the Harry Potter franchise. Since Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint (Harry, Hermione and Ron) were still underage kids, they had limited amount of working hours per day. Thus, the three of them, as well as many other child actors and child extras, weren’t able to film all day long. In order for the crew to film the movie in a short period of time and make the most of it, they often had to replace Daniel, Emma and Rupert with short-sized adult actors and make them wear wigs. The crew shot these “doubles” from behind without filming their faces, so that they would look like the three main actors.
Rickman shared how there were times, during which there were around 300 children on the set. He also stated that if a person looks closely at the “back” scenes, he or she will realize that it’s not really Daniel Radcliffe’s head in the movie in not just one or two scenes!
