Britain isn’t the best place to stay if you’re allergic to water – which apparently is a real condition.
According to official reports, a 26 year old woman from Ripley, Derbyshire, suffers from an extremely rare condition called Aquagenic Pruritus. The 26 year old Rachel Prince gets an awful and extremely painful skin rash if even a single drop of water touches her sensitive skin. One single drop triggers the allergic reaction, which means that Rachel can’t afford to leave the house without an umbrella just in case a sudden cloud darkens the sky. Rachel, who’s an artist, doesn’t want to risk with her allergy, even though she’s feeling depressed while staying indoors. The heavy downpours in the UK have trapped the woman inside her own home, but her boredom and depression aren’t enough to give her bravery.
Nina Goad, a dermatologist from the British Association of Dermatologists claims that Rachel’s condition is rare, but that the Aquagenic Pruritus exists indeed.
