Catherine Goodwin from United Kingdom came up with a way to get rid of speeding tickets. The 60-year-old woman was caught speeding by speed cameras twice in 2008.
The woman agreed to pay the fines but claimed that she wasn’t personally responsible for the misdemeanor thus avoiding getting penalized. Mrs. Goodwin insisted she was not to be blamed as her husband was doing the driving both times. The only problem was Mr. Goodwin had passed away a year earlier. This resulted in six penalty points being put on Mr.Goodwin’s driving record even though he was no longer living. The weird fact remained unnoticed until Mrs. Goodwin attempted to get a new passport under her husband’s name. The request was denied so the woman submitted the application again using the photo of a man she had met earlier. The authorities revealed the fraud and Mrs. Goodwin was charged for both misdemeanors. She is currently claiming ‘temporary insanity’ in order to avoid getting in jail.
