Having a Japanese closet might sound thrilling – after all, every woman and many men would love to have a whole room for their clothes, household linens and other stuff. However, the thrill of having one such closet wasn’t a thrill of joy for one man.
According to official reports, in 2008 an unnamed Japanese man was living alone in his home – at least that’s what the then 58 year old thought. For several months the man had been noticing how food from his fridge was going missing. The puzzled man couldn’t bear not knowing what was going on, so after months and months of wondering he decided to install surveillance cameras at his home. The cameras sent the footage to his phone, and he saw movement in his home. The man thought it was a burglar and called the police. However, the officers found all the doors and windows locked windows and doors in their search for the hidden burglar.
Surprisingly, they found a woman hidden in the man’s closet. It turned out she was homeless and had been living there for a whole year!
