Recently there was a report of a missing tourist somewhere in Iceland which alarmed more than 50 people who organized a search party. The story is that a group of tourists from all over the world was enjoying a nice bus ride throughout the Eldgja volcanic canyon in Iceland when suddenly someone from the group disappeared.
The bus made a pit stop near the entrance of the canyon park and a woman from the tourist group decided to go inside a public restroom and freshen up. The woman changed her clothes and put on some make up. When she came back to the bus she was barely recognizable. This even alarmed her “busmates” who believed that someone from the group was actually missing.
The word spread really fast and the bus driver had to make the decision to organize a search party. He even called the coast guard nearby which began mobilizing. The very same woman who had changed her clothes was somehow unaware of her very own description and she also joined the search & rescue efforts. Eventually after more than 3h of searching the whole area some genius from the group figured out that the person they were looking for was not missing at all. Afterwards the search party was called off and the woman was really embarrassed to get back on the bus.
