If you think the lawsuits against McDonald’s can’t get more ridiculous than the spilled hot drink charges, think again!
Webster Lucas, an ex-McDonald’s fan, ordered a Deluxe Quarter Pounder sandwich at a McDonald’s restaurant in Pacoima, California, on the 29th of January 2014. The man was ready to enjoy his meal when he realized there was only one napkin in his to-go paper bag, so he returned to the restaurant and asked for more. However, he was surprisingly denied more napkins by the staff. Lucas demanded to speak with the manager, who told him he had already been given napkins. According to Lucas, the heated conversation with the manager resulted in Lucas feeling emotionally distressed and filled with mental anguish. He wrote an e-mail to the general manager, who told him that the aim of McDonald’s is to satisfy its customers 100%, which means that the staff is always extremely friendly with absolutely no exceptions.
In the end, Lucas filed a lawsuit against the fast food chain, according to which he’s currently suing them for $1.6 million.
