If you are a human being then you are bound to make mistakes. Sometimes mistakes are small and often lead to no negative consequences, but every now and then mistakes can cost you a fortune. Recently, a bank teller in the city of Hull in Madison County, Georgia made a grave mistake by placing a $31,000 deposit in the wrong account.
The teller made the error because two people had the same names. To make the matters even worse the money ended up in the account of an eagerly opportunistic 18-year-old teenager. Once the teen saw the huge amount of cash in his account he thought he got incredibly lucky and immediately withdrew $20,000. He then went on a crazy shopping spree and bought himself any 18-year-old with unlimited cash would. Later the same day the teen went to the bank and attempted to withdraw even more cash when the bank’s management told him about the misunderstanding.
The bank demanded their cash returned but the teenager refused. He told them the money was from his grandmother and he would keep it.
No charges have been filed yet but the bank will probably seek legal action.
