There is a new scientifically groundbreaking T-Shirt that is about to hit the markets worldwide anytime soon. It’s called the Silic shirt and its main utility is to protect you from any liquids that can cause major stains such as ketchup, coffee, Coca Cola and even wine.
The innovative T-Shirt was created by the San Francisco-based young entrepreneur Aamir Patel with the help of one of Vera Wang’s former fashion designers. Patel and his team launched their entrepreneurial project on Kickstarter in order to raise enough money for its realization. Their goal was $20,000 but they have already surpassed it with their currently raised sum of over $60,000. All the initial orders will be shipped by May 2014 and the innovative T-Shirts will become available in commercial stores worldwide.
The Silica name comes from all the billions of tiny silica molecules that are deeply ingrained in the T-Shirt’s fabric. The microscopic hydrophobic technology can repel any liquid which contains water molecules by causing them to form a 150 degree spherical bubble and drop off the shirt instantaneously, thus avoiding dreadful stains. When the T-shirt hits the market its price is going to be approximately $50.
