Early Wednesday morning was nothing but usual for the passengers on the Queens-bound N train in New York City. A commuter on the train was alarmed by the reek coming from a dead shark, found on the floor under the seats. It immediately attracted crowds which led to an MTA (Metropolitan Transit Authority) official evacuating the train.
Speculation regarding the shark’s origin included it being a promo for the Discovery Channel’s “Shark Week”. The channel has denied the accusations stating their show is all about conservation and celebration of sharks, and the fact that the event is considered humorous grieves them deeply.
Another shark’s carcass was also found last week at the doorstep of a bar in Nantucket.
