Energy drinks have proven themselves when it comes to giving you a boost, but they are also worse than coffee overdoses, since they tend to make the drinker addictive.
According to official reports, the Small Heath School in Birmingham, UK, has banned all sorts of energy drinks from school grounds. The reports state that the students attending the Small Health School have showed clear signs of health problems thanks to their mania over Red Bull, Monster and other high-caffeine soft drinks. A great number of students have been unable to sit tight and focus during classes thanks to over-anxiety problems caused by the consistencies of the energy drinks, while others have been falling asleep during classes after experiencing the wear off of the energy buzz. The school’s principal has banned the drinks after he had witnessed 11 year olds drinking several cans a day.
The reports state that the children’s parents are positive about the new ban. Furthermore, even the British Soft Drinks Association supports the ban as they state that energy drinks are most certainly not intended for young schoolchildren.
