Captain Noushad, a commercial airline pilot for Pakistan International Airlines, was not happy with the food provided on board therefore he delayed a flight to New York waiting for his sandwiches delivery. Noushad was directed to a five star hotel by the Pakistan Allama Iqbal Airport catering department after they advised him they couldn’t provide the food he wanted. Despite being informed that his order might take hours to arrive, the captain insisted he needed his lunch no matter what.
The airline captain demanded his order for the 6.45 am flight but due to the sandwiches delivery delay the flight had to be rescheduled for 9.15 am instead. The time revision resulted in a severe inconvenience for all the passengers aiming to change for connecting flights.
Reportedly, Pakistan International Airlines degraded their lunch-time menu to crisps, peanuts and biscuits due to cost-cutting measures. However, PIA management has recently changed the menu on their long-haul and international flights adding some extra foodstuffs.
