A woman from Chicago was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. It’s a devastating and incurable condition in whose final stages the muscles become weakened and eventually atrophy. People with the condition require regular physical therapy in order to at least prolong their regular ways of living.
Cynthia Abrams was suffering from multiple sclerosis and she was desperate to find a way to deal with her condition after she could no longer afford the excessively expensive physical therapy sessions. So Cynthia browsed the web and found inspiration in the most unexpected way. One day she discovered by accident the YouTube video of a woman named Karen Cheng who had decided to teach herself how to dance.
Karen’s way of teaching herself was by dancing all the time, everywhere, everyday for an entire year and filming her improvement throughout a series of YouTube videos. After seeing this Cynthia Abrams emailed Karen and asking for advice. It was then when Abrams began filming herself walking and exercising. You can check out her progress by watching her inspiring videos.
