This guy has spent $10,000 on Steve Jobs’ old business cards!
What is the most valuable piece you have in your business card arsenal? Can you say it’s worth $10,000? You probably can’t. This guy, however, can.
According to official reports, a man named Tim Knowles, recently purchased three of Steve Jobs’ old business cards for more than $10,000. Knowles, who is the CEO of Stacks.co, thought that it was of the highest importance to add Jobs’ old cards in his business card collection. He paid a total of $10,500 for the three cards. They represent Jobs, his old coordinates and his previous positions from the time he was the CEO of PIXAR and Apple and the president of NeXt. The business cards date back from the early 1980s.
The cards were donated to the private high school The Marin School located in San Rafael, California. The school put them up for auction and set a starting price of $600. Little did they know that one particular man would spend $10,000 on them! The reports show that the business cards were donated to the school by an anonymous family, who once used to cater for the late Steve Jobs.
When Tim Knowles was contacted by the media after the purchase, he stated that the cards were really worth the $10,500. He also said that if it wasn’t for Jobs and his decades of hard work and dedication, none of us would be doing the things we are doing right now.
Would you spend $10,000 on a set of three old business cards from the 1980s, if you had that much of spare money? Would you do it if it meant having three of Steve Jobs’ old business cards?
