Edmond Aviv from Cleveland, Ohio was sentenced to wear a sign with the words ‘I Am A Bully’ and spend a day at a busy intersection. The sign also stated that the 62-year-old man was picking on disabled children was intolerant of those different from himself. The sign pointed out that Aviv’s actions did not reflect an appreciation for the diverse community he was living in.
The judge’s sentence came after Aviv’s horrible treatment of his neighbor whose husband is a dementia patient and some of whose children are also disabled in some way. Other neighbors testified against the man stating the harassment had been going on for more than a decade. Bystanders who saw Aviv with the sign that they yelled insults at him probably trying to make him feel like his victims. The man was also sentenced to mental-health counseling, anger management classes, 100 hours of community service and 15 days in jail.
