Our phones have become a natural extension of our hands. We think we can’t live without them. And usually when we use them, we never pay attention to how much time or money we spend on them. However, this was not the case with a man from Malaysia.
Yahaya Wahab, a man from Malaysia, paid a $23 bill in order to disconnect his father’s cell phone line and close the account after the man’s death. Regardless, few months later Wahab received a humongous bill for his father’s very own cell phone which equaled $218 trillion. The bill came from Telekom Malaysia and the letter with it said that if Wahab didn’t pay the bill in 10 days he would face legal proceedings. According to Wahab himself there aren’t enough money in the whole wide world to pay such a bill.
However, Wahab isn’t scared of the letter as he is prepared to fight the company. Wahab’s own explanation of the bill was unclear – he wasn’t sure if his father’s cell line had been illegally used after his passing or if the bill was a pure mistake.
