A “missing” British man was found partying shortly after his girlfriend filed a missing persons report.
The guy in question reportedly told his partner that he was being held captive by a man, who was requesting a £50 ($82) ransom in order to let the Brit go home. His frightened girlfriend immediately contacted the police and filed a missing person report. The law enforcement officers launched a manhunt on the busy Friday night searching for the alleged kidnapper, who was reportedly holding his victim somewhere in Bolton, UK. The hunt led to a completely unnecessary arrest and later that night the cops found the “victim” partying with some friends at around 1:30 AM Saturday morning.
Instead of wasting more time and resources on the guy, the police decided not to arrest him, but to fine him. He also had his actions written on his record, so he’ll forever have a criminal “conviction” in his dossier.
