Usually, when people use public transport they tend to lose some personal items every now and then. If you are a cab driver probably you have seen people forget all sorts of different items when in a rush. From forgotten umbrellas to dropped iPhones beneath the back seat of a cab, there is just an incredible variety of different objects that a cab driver may find.
In this case the Las Vegas cab driver named Gerardo Gamboa got the shock of his life after peeking inside a forgotten bag of chocolates.
As it turns out Gamboa discovered the impressive amount of $300,000 in cash stuffed inside an ordinary chocolates bag. The cab driver opened the bag out of curiosity while he was already with another passenger at a red traffic light. The shocked but honorable cab driver immediately told his passenger that he automatically became a witness after the discovery of the money. Gamboa then called the dispatcher right away and reported the money.
It took the police and the taxi company a couple of hours to identify the owner of the cash. It turned out the owner was a poker player and the cab driver picked him up from the Cosmopolitan resort and drove him to the Palms Place tower.
For his honesty and incredible act of goodwill Gerardo Gamboa was rewarded with $1,000, a free dinner for two at a nice restaurant and was also made ‘driver of the year’ by the taxi company he works for.
