In 1990 something terrible happened to Luo Gang and his original family. When he was just 5 years old he was abducted by child traffickers. The 5-year-old Luo was then transported approximately 900 miles away from his house in Yaojia to the village of Sanming situated on the other side of China.
He was then “adopted” by a new family who took good care of him. His new parents desperately wanted a son so they paid child traffickers to have a boy delivered. Back in the 1990s thousands of kids were abducted each year due to the country’s one-child policy and loose laws for adoption.
Although Luo was quite young when abducted he remembered a lot of small details about his biological family. He kept these memories all his life and even wrote them down in order never to forget them.
Due to the incredible power of the Internet, social media and a team of volunteers Luo Gang was able to track down his real family and find his original birthplace 23 years later. He turned for help to a website called “Baby Come Home” in which he shared all the details of his previous home. With the help of hundreds of key inputs by volunteers Luo was eventually able to locate his home village.
When the man was finally reunited with his real family his mother cried with tears of happiness because her baby boy had turned out so well.
Now Luo is planning his wedding and he intends to invite both families to the ceremony.
