One man’s plan to evade the police backfired when he decided to give the cops a fake name, which turned out to be the name of a wanted man!
Running from the long arm of the law can be a tricky business, especially because you can never know exactly how much information the police can get their hands on. Just take a look at this guy’s story for example.
According to official reports, an unnamed man was pulled over in Whangarei, New Zealand, earlier this month. When asked about his name, the guy decided to use a fake one in order to escape the police and a probable arrest. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t know that the name he gave already figured as a wanted person’s name in the police’s database. Thus, the cops ended up cuffing the man and placing him jail for the deeds the wanted man had done. The 23 year old driver’s real name is still undisclosed, as well as the name of the other person of interest.
The reports state that the driver appeared in the courtroom under the fake name, but the truth was eventually uncovered by the Ngawha Prison’s officials. Fortunately for him, he won’t get charged for the other man’s crimes, which are believed to have something to do with violating bail conditions. Nevertheless, he will still have to appear in court once again, only this time under his real name. The reports claim the 23 year old New Zealand resident will probably face a number of charges, among which are preventing the course of justice by giving false details and driving a vehicle while disqualified. Let’s hope he has learned his lesson.
