A short Youtube video that has gathered viewers attentions shows a woman in a 1930’s fashion dress talking on something that looks a lot like a wireless cellphone. The video which was supposedly shot back in 1938 has raised a lot of questions and conspiracy theories, most of them circling around the hypothesis that the woman was a time traveler. The first cell phone was invented in the 1970s and became commercially available in the late 1980s so it really makes one wonder what the woman from the film is using some 40 years before the introduction of any device of the kind.
A Youtube user with the nickname ‘planetcheck’ has recently claimed that the woman from the video is actually their great grandmother called Gertrude Jones. According to ‘planetcheck’ 17-year-old Gertrude was an employee in the telephone communications section in Dupont factory in Leominster, Massachusetts where the footage takes place. The communications department of the company was said to had been experimenting with wireless telephones so a few employees were given devices to test. ‘Planetcheck’s claim has not been confirmed by an independent source so far, but another Youtube viewer has claimed he also knows a person who supposedly worked at the factory at the same time and has shared similar information about the wireless telephones’ testing.
