Nobody wants to smell like a mini bar, but then again, designers are famous for thinking outside the box.
According to official reports, Angelos Bratis, an Italian fashion designer, is designing clothing that smells like Johnnie Walker even after the cloth is washed or dry-cleaned.
The material is a product of the partnership between Johnnie Walker and Harris Tweed Hebrides, a textile maker. The Heriot-Watt University’s School of Textiles and Design was also featured in the development process. The reports claim that the scent of the cloth is a mixture of vanilla, malt, dark chocolate and red fruit aroma, which resembles the scent of a bottle of malt whiskey. There’s still no word on how much this fabric would cost, let alone a finished piece of clothing.
The reports also state that the micro-encapsulation technology, which is used to imprint the scent into the fabric, will make the clothes reek of whiskey regardless of the chemicals you or your dry cleaner use.
