Normally, when most people get married they spare no expense when it comes to lavishness. From the most expensive wedding gowns to the most fabulous wedding reception, everything needs to be perfect so the wedding day becomes as memorable as possible.
However, this was not the case for the artist Georgina Porteous and her significant other, the singer-songwriter Sid Innes. They organized the perfect wedding that was estimated at only $1.50 which was actually the price of Georgina’s second-hand wedding dress.
The couple had their friends bring their own food and drinks and used the backyard barn at their home as wedding venue. A minister agreed to service the wedding for free. Lastly, for a musical background they got the father of the bride to play jazz music on his saxophone.
For the happy couple everything went according to plan. All the family members and guests were more than satisfied with the whole wedding experience and loved Sid and Georgina’s ideas.
The newlyweds are now off to their honeymoon in Berlin, Germany where they plan to spend a lot more money.
