There are many people out there who are compassionate and enjoy giving as much as receiving. One such individual is the 82-year-old Anthony Cymerys. He had a fruitful and successful career in business and in the meantime used to cut his family members’ hair. What started as a hobby eventually turned to become much more.
Cymerys began cutting other people’s hair every Wednesday in the Bushnell Park located in Hartford, Connecticut. What is even more remarkable about this is that Cymerys began giving haircuts to homeless and underprivileged folks. He simply uses his car, a lawn chair and portable clippers attached to the car battery.
In exchange for his services he does not want payment but a simple hug is enough. He has been doing this for more than 25 years already and is famous as Joe the Barber in the area. His inspiration to commit himself to this came after visiting a church sermon dedicated to the homeless.
