Granite Telecommunications is a high-growth and a bit old-fashioned company installing landline phone systems. It’s run by it’s CEO Robert Hale Jr. who started the multi-million business alongside with his father. What’s even more incredible about this company is the family culture that focuses all the employees towards a common goal. The rock solid evidence of the camaraderie that thrives inside the company was the most recent incredible event when the CEO Rob Hale and over 425 employees decided to go bald.
Practically all of the company’s employees shaved their heads simultaneously in order to raise money for cancer research. The company paid $5,000 per shaved head raising a total of $2,125,000. All the proceedings will be donated to The Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
What started as a simple bet among co-workers became something no one expected. The moment when the CEO Rob Hale proposed to a co-worker with a very large beard to shave it for $1,000, eventually inspired the whole charitable campaign aimed at defeating cancer.
