It’s not a secret that attractiveness sells better than any business slogan. And frankly, men don’t have anything against watching attractive women in skimpy shorts walking their pets on the street.
In this case, however, the women were only teenagers and the animals were… crabs.
The Pirate King, a restaurant located in Beijing, China, made headlines for their newest campaign. They hired a team of artists who came up with a strange idea of walking crabs down the streets – the same artists that were responsible for that famous cabbage walking occurrence earlier this year. The restaurant hired a group of teenage girls who walked the crabs while being dressed in skimpy outfits. Their job was to draw attention to the restaurant’s seafood promotions and menu. However, it drew attention to their methods of advertising. Even crab activists said the whole thing was extremely cruel.
The restaurant’s manager, Peng Mai, explained that they didn’t suffer much, since they were cooked and eaten shortly after they were taken out for a walk.
