If you have noticed a lot of men these days that are seemingly unshaven and a lot hairier than usual there is a reason behind it : it’s the season of Movember!
Movember is a charity event that is being held during the whole month of November each year since 2006. This is the time when men decide to ditch their razors and grow a fancy looking mustache or a beard. The point of the worldwide campaign is to spread awareness among the general public regardning men’s health issues such as prostate cancer and depression.
This year a brave young woman has decided to join in the competition and support men worldwide.
Sarah O’Neil from England has an extremely rare condition that enables her to grow facial hair. The medical term of the disease is polycystic ovary syndrome or PCOS for short.
Sarah controls her condition by using specially designed medicinal creams to remove the excess hair from her face. At first, she was embarrassed about her manly hair but now she has decided to embrace her condition and raise worldwide awareness about it.
Sarah shared she is feeling quite nervous to leave her facial hair unattended for a whole month because she has never done it before. But as long as it is for a worthy cause Sarah is ready to withstand the potential public ridicule.
