A 26-year-old brain tumor survivor named Richard Frost has recently won UK’s Health Lottery jackpot of $164,000. He got diagnosed with the deadly condition when he was just 3 years old. Richard had numerous operations in the course of 10 years before the tumor was removed.
He had to relearn how to talk and walk and underwent through excruciating physiotherapy treatment. Practically throughout his entire life Richard felt he had only had bad luck, until now. He is a Post Master (the head of an individual post office) in the small town of Middleton, UK and learned about the Health Lottery in November last year since the lottery expanded into the Post Offices throughout the UK.
The UK Health Lottery operates by donating money to a variety of health related causes raised through the lottery proceedings in different parts of the country. 33 cents in every $1.65 (£1) goes to charity.
It was only the second time Richard played. He won the jackpot that changed his life with the numbers 3, 7, 25, 34 and 46 on December 7, 2013. Richard’s first major purchase was a car : a brand new Audi TT worth $53,300 that he had always dreamed about.
