One biologist from Cambridge claims that aliens not only exist, but they also look exactly like us.
We would all love the idea of aliens looking like Mila Kunis in Jupiter Ascending, but those, who are prone to believe in extraterrestrial life, probably think they look like some terrifying, extremely ugly creatures. Well, one of these people actually claims that they don’t look ugly at all.
Simon Conway Morris, who is working as an evolutionary biologist at the University of Cambridge, has come up with a “convergence” theory, according to which aliens look like us, Earthlings. Professor Morris believes not only that aliens exist on other planets, but that their features are quite similar to our own. He states that the evolution on other planets, which offer favorable living conditions, follows strict rigid laws and it’s not random. His theory is based on the idea that “intelligence is convergent”. Or in other words, the biologist believes that intelligent life is evolving on other planets in a similar way to our own evolution.
Apart from that, the Cambridge professor is also convinced that other planets are also inhabited by flora and fauna similar to the one on Earth, which would mean that there might be trees, plants and animals that look like the ones we have on our planet.
Over the course of the past few decades many scientists have discovered planets similar to Earth and even some distant planets, who are thought to have living conditions similar to ours – meaning, there could be alien life on them. If Professor Morris’ theory is right, aliens most definitely won’t look like tiny green creatures with pointy antlers on their heads. The biologist gives a further explanation of his groundbreaking theory in his book – The Runes of Evolution.
