Last summer the police in Virginia arrested a 21-year-old man who was caught while he was trying to rob a bank. The policemen interrogated him but he refused to speak even when he was threatened to get a 25-year sentence.
Finally, Torres spoke and told the police an unbelievable story. The young man explained he had been recruited by the Defence Intelligence Agency to take part into a secret operation which purpose was to test the security systems of Washington banks. According to him his task was to rob six banks in four days. The name of the man who recruited him was Theo and he supposedly worked for the CIA. Torres was supposed to get $25,000 and he was persuaded it was legal.
The police found and arrested the fake CIA agent, who happened to be a man called Brady. Torres and all other participants in the robberies were not charged but Brady was sentenced to three years of supervision
