The story might seem inspired by the famous McDonald’s Hamburglar character. Not quite.
The robbery, which took place at a McDonald’s restaurant on Helen Burroughs Avenue in Washington, D.C., involved stealing a customer’s cell phone. According to the victim he was approached by a group of children and soon after that he realized his cell phone was missing.
The police posted a wanted ad about 4-feet-tall boy, probably at the age of 6 or 7. The child was last seen wearing a white shirt and black shorts. The other boys from the group were described as aged 7 to 14. The group of kids wasn’t armed and in any way dangerous. All of them managed to flee on foot successfully from the restaurant.
McDonald’s is quite an unlikely place for a robbery and in the same time quite a common hang-out spot for children and parents. However, in this case no parents were involved.
