A couple from Pennsylvania had to get married in a hospital’s emergency room thanks to an unfortunate heart attack the groom had on the wedding day.
Robert Adams was about to get married to Mary Pizzuto, but things got out of hand when he had a heart attack on the wedding day. The 68 year old man wasn’t having an anxiety attack, as he first thought, and had to be taken to a hospital. His fiancé and the reverend accompanied the groom to the Forbes Hospital where he was treated at the ER. Since Adams was already dressed for the wedding he asked the reverend to marry him to his beloved Mary. The hospital staff made a crafty bouquet, which was drink straws, cardboard, blue paper and rubber gloves. Mary didn’t get to walk down the aisle, but she got to marry her groom in an extraordinary ceremony.
Mr. Adams joked with the media that he had to remind the reverend that he was there to hear marriage vows and not administer last rites.
