Probably there are not that many modern women out there who would disagree that high heels are stylish and complement most outfits. A greater part of men might want to agree with them since according to various social studies most men describe women wearing heels as ‘stylish, intriguing and attractive’. Heels are also very popular for dancing as many dances such as salsa, cha cha and other latin and standard ballroom dance style require the lady to wear heels instead of flats.
Wearing heels definitely has many advantages and here are some of them :
A tall look : if you are not very tall heels can give you the tall look you desire thus also elongating your figure and making it look slender and elegant.
Better shaped legs : wearing heels puts the calves in constant pressure thus giving your muscles a sort of ‘workout’ the whole time you are in heels.
Good body posture : wearing heels can help a woman stand up straight and thus improve her whole body posture; but, however, if a woman is not experienced in wearing heels, especially high ones, she may be forced to walk in a funny way trying to cope with the height.
Having said all that, heels also have several disadvantages such as :
Foot pain : we can all agree that there isn’t a woman walking the Earth who has never experienced it after spending hours in high heels; as the entire body pressure is concentrated on the feet, it can lead to foot pain and even hip pain if heels are worn for hours on.
Difficulty in walking : although it seems elegant if a woman has mastered it, walking in heels is definitely difficult, especially if it is a long distance walk; not only it can cause heel pain but it also rises the chance of woman falling while walking due to losing her balance.
Yellowing and deformation : while wearing high heels all weight is concentrated on the foot heel which can lead to developing hard and yellow patches of skin; it can also deform your feet changing their natural look.
