Recently, one 5-year-old boy with autism named Daniel Newberger received the most unexpected and incredibly special gift. According to Daniel’s parents the little boy used to have a true fear of the outside world. At first he was terrified going out and engaging in activities any 5-year-old would. He used to be afraid of the garbage pick up truck, but soon became incredibly fascinated with the whole process of collecting the thrash in the dump truck.
Every Monday for weeks Daniel would carefully analyze and watch exactly how the garbage cans were picked up and emptied. He knew exactly at what time and who would pick up the thrash, so he could go outside and watch. He even had a favorite recycle man employed by the company ” E.J. Harrison & Sons” named Manuel Sanchez. One sunny day the very same trash pick up guy decided to surprise the 5-year-old Daniel with a special gift. Daniel received a toy garbage truck by the most kind hearted trash collector ever, Mr. Sanchez.
The mother of Daniel, Robin was able to capture the heartwarming moment on video with her cell phone. The video is currently going viral and was uploaded on YouTube by “Autism Speaks” – an advocacy group for people with autism.
