This man holds the Guinness World Record for being the man with the largest numbers of filed lawsuits ever. After he received his honorable place in the Guinness Book of World Records, he decided to sue them as well.
You will never believe the ridiculousness of this man!
Jonathan Lee Riches, a convict with a passion for filing lawsuits, has sued different companies and people more than 4,000 times as of 2009. The Guinness Records decided to give him his rightful place in their notorious archives, so they sent him a letter to notify him on his outstanding score. However, the letter claimed he had filed nearly 5,500 lawsuits. So, Riches got so mad at them for not having their facts straight that he decided to do the very thing he does best of all – sue them. He claims he wrote at least 10 times to the Guinness Records explaining how he does not want to figurate in their archives, especially with the false statement that he has filed 5,500 lawsuits. He tried to sue them, the Library of Congress, Encyclopedia Britannica and others in his suite.
Apart from this, the guy has also sued almost anyone – from Bill Belichick (New England Patriot’s coach) up to Martha Stewart! His unbelievable lawsuits vary from strange to ridiculously hilarious. Riches even tried to sue the whole court system by claiming he had developed arthritis in his already crooked fingers and numbness in his wrists from filing tons and tons of lawsuits. He claimed his ambition was to teach US citizens how to file proper lawsuits and threatened every single person and organization on the planet with the following words: “Watch what you do, or I’ll sue you!”
Another insane person decided to sue Michael Jordan and Nike for a total of $862 million, because of his uncanny looks with the basketball superstar and the fact that their similar appearances were causing him severe distress. He decided to drop his suit once he was stormed with countless negative comments and news articles.
