An unfortunate single mom got fired from her job over one Facebook post.
Kaitlyn Wells learned that the social media can do some serious damage to your career the hard way after she made a post about her new employers on Facebook.
Wells, who is a single mom, got a new job position at a local daycare center. Unfortunately, she wasn’t really into the job and she took her troubles to Facebook. She posted a status, which stated that even though she was just starting her job, she didn’t like working at daycare centers at all. Unfortunately for her, her employers got the message.
The mother of one received quite the attention from other Facebook users and eventually, the daycare center, which had employed her, also saw her Facebook post. They quickly changed her mind about hiring her and decided to fire her from the position. Kaitlyn’s story was so shocking that it was covered by the local news agencies. She told the media that she didn’t really meant what she said and that she didn’t mean to come off as if she hated children. She explained that she just didn’t want to be surrounded by little kids all day long. Kaitlyn also shared that she has a young daughter, which she loves unconditionally and that she was worried she wouldn’t be able to find a new job and take care of her daughter after her Facebook fail.
The attention her post received made tons of Internet users, even people Kaitlyn didn’t know, express their hateful opinions towards her. She also said that the whole experience was so hurtful and such a huge mistake that she would never ever post something like that again.
Let’s hope she’s learned her lesson.
