A common hangover and a slight change of plans saved the lives of Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane. Both of them were booked on the AA Flight 11, which crashed into the World Trade Center back in September 2001, but, fortunately, they missed it.
On the 11th of September 2001 almost 3,000 people died in the terrorist attack, which was carried over New York City by a group of Islamic terrorists. Two of the planes the terrorists had hijacked crashed into the World Trade Center – American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 both en route from Boston to NYC. MacFarlane and Wahlberg were just two of the tens of famous celebrities, who were booked on the AA Flight 11. Fortunately, both of them didn’t take the flight and survived.
Mark Wahlberg was actually set to fly to LA, but he and his entourage decided to skip the booked flight and to take a different aircraft to a different destination. They ended up flying to Toronto, Canada, for some film festival. When he was questioned about the fortunate escape from certain death, Wahlberg actually said that the event has been haunting his dreams and that he probably would have done his best to fight off the terrorists and save the lives of thousands of people.
Seth MacFarlane’s case, on the other hand, is a completely different story. Seth was also booked on the AA Flight 11, but his managed actually mixed up his flights. At the end, MacFarlane ended up learning the correct schedule, but he still missed the flight. He was 10 minutes late for it, because he had an awful hangover. He stated that if he had been on the plane, he wouldn’t have known how to react and what to do. He also joked how the moral he drew out of the whole situation was the fact that “alcohol is his friend”, because his hangover saved him from certain death.
