This 73 year old man punched an actual wild bear just to defend his pet Chihuahua from the gigantic creature.
If you think you would do anything for your beloved pets, then you have something in common with Carl Moore.
Moore, who resides in Placer County, California, US, heard his pet Chihuahua Lacy whimpering outside of his home in broad daylight at the end of April this year, so he immediately went outside to check what was wrong with his dog. He was surprised to see that the dog was scared by the sight of a gigantic wild bear, which was trying to invade the private property. The 73 year old man quickly recovered from his initial surprise and ran straight towards the bear before the creature had the chance to reach the Chihuahua and started punching him. The bear eventually ran away without injuring Moore or his pet pooch.
The 73 year old man, who has spent his life working for the US Marine Corps, a bouncer and a boxer, spoke to the media about his unusual clash with the wild bear. One of his employers witnessed the whole thing and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife later confirmed that the wild bear weighted around 300 pounds. Moore’s act of bravery saved not only his Chihuahua, but also his property. He stated that the very same animal has already killed some of his chickens. The officials at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife stated that the man could receive a permission to even shoot the bear if it enters his property again.
However, Moore stated that he wouldn’t do that, because he won’t be able to shoot an animal, regardless of its sizes. He claimed that he would call 911 and would prefer the sheriff to put the bear down instead.
